Aico supports Willowdene Rehabilitation

As part of their ongoing support to Willowdene Rehabilitation, Aico have facilitated the redecoration of the reception area of the facility and the production of a corporate brochure.

Through their Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) programme, ‘Aico in the Community’, Aico have supported Willowdene Rehabilitation throughout 2020 as part of ‘Everything Shropshire’, the nominated charity of the year in support of the High Sheriff of Shropshire Dean Harris. The ‘Aico in the Community’ programme provides each Aico colleague with multiple days to participate in CSR activities, with many colleagues choosing to volunteer at Willowdene Rehabilitation.

Households encouraged to protect lungs from Radon

Airtech, the condensation, mould and radon specialists, is supporting UK Radon Awareness Week (2-8 November 2020) which is run by the UK Radon Association, by encouraging households to protect their lungs by being Radon Aware and taking action. This year radon awareness is more important than ever due the pandemic, firstly because households are spending longer periods of time at home and so have extended periods of exposure to radon in radon-affected properties. Secondly good lung health is paramount in helping protect against COVID-19. With radon the second leading cause of lung cancer in the UK after smoking it poses a significant risk to lung health with an estimated 1100 deaths each year estimated to be caused by exposure to the gas.

The team at Panasonic has introduced a series of interactive, online accredited CIBSE CPD courses to enhance skills during these unprecedented times. The CPD courses have been developed by Panasonic and support learning in a variety of heating and cooling disciplines.
 
Panasonic’s CPD programme has been running throughout the year either at the company’s Bracknell HQ or in various locations around the UK and have been presented by the experienced and knowledgeable team at Panasonic. However, during these extraordinary times, these courses are now available in a digital format, using the video conferencing facilities via Microsoft Teams.
